The game design teacher
In 2014 I started up the Creative Gaming course at Buskerud Folk College. Since then, I’ve explored the world of games and gaming culture along with several groups of students. Since 2016, I have also acted as the school’s Vice Principal.
In the course we’ve mainly focused on the Unity engine, however we’ve also worked in engines such as GameMaker, Unreal Engine and Twine.
Throughout a typical school year, the students learn topics such as scripting, game design documentation, project management and prototyping. We discuss games and game design, and we travel on study trips in Norway and Europe.
Most importantly, we make games. A few examples can be seen in the videos below, and some can be tested at https://buskerudfhs.itch.io/
